The 69-year-old was appointed as United’s manager back in July 2014. After spending 679 days in charge of the Manchester club, where he won 54 out of 103 matches while drawing 24 and losing 25, Van Gaal left Old Trafford in May 2016 (per Transfermarkt).
Dodged a bullet there. Glad sometimes Levy moves at a glacial pace!

Instead of Van Gaal, the London club appointed Mauricio Pochettino in 2014 and he then went on to take charge of 293 games for Spurs, in which he averaged a points-per-game total of 1.84, before leaving the club in November 2019.
Thanks Daniel ??
