Journalist Alasdair Gold has recently given some more insight into Tanguy Ndombele and his future at Tottenham Hotspur.

Gold was talking about many issues surrounding Spurs in the latest video on his YouTube channel and one thing that he focused on was the situation of Ndombele. The journalist revealed that Spurs ‘believe’ in the Frenchman and delivered some insight into his situation at the north London club.

Ndombele has been linked with a move to Inter in recent days. It was reported that the Nerazzurri are ‘working on’ a potential swap deal that would involve Ndombele and defender Milan Skriniar.

When talking about the former Lyon midfielder, Gold revealed that Spurs believe that there is a ‘long-term’ future for Ndombele at the club.

Gold said: “Tottenham believe in him. They believe there’s a long-term future for him. I think it will be interesting to see now, over the final months of the season, whether that creates an issue, in terms of whether he believes he is just not wanted by [Jose] Mourinho. We know if that atmosphere gets toxic, then eventually a decision will have to be made on whether: do you just cut your losses?

Would you be angry if Tottenham sell Ndombele this summer?

No, that won't be a problem

“I can’t see Spurs ever taking a loss on him, but do you then start dealing? At the moment, they are swatting away Inter Milan, who want him, and I do wonder, at a certain point, if it becomes a bit of nightmare behind the scenes, do you just think: ‘look, we are actually now jeopardising squad harmony.'”

TIF Thoughts…

23-year-old Ndombele made 29 appearances in all competitions in the 2019/20 season and had directly contributed to six goals from midfield (as per Transfermarkt).

In the Champions League, he had racked up a WhoScored match rating of 7.34/10. That is a pretty promising sign for Spurs and the player himself – and perhaps vindicates the support that the club are showing him, as per Gold’s suggestion. Jose Mourinho has previously publicly criticised Ndombele, but Spurs fans can only hope that the Frenchman improves and earns the trust of the manager soon.
