In the latest video on his YouTube channel, Football.london journalist Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur and discussing some of the transfer business that the Lilywhites could conduct this summer.

One topic of discussion in his recent video was Spurs youth team striker Kion Etete. The youngster was signed from Notts County last summer, having made his professional debut for the Magpies at the age of just 16 (per Tottenham Hotspur). It seems as if Gold has high hopes that the 18-year-old can go on to play for the Spurs first team in the future.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Here’s what the journalist had to say about Etete in his YouTube video:

“Etete was signed last summer for £200k from Notts County. [He’s] had injuries after he joined Spurs which didn’t help, but for the Under-18s, I think he got into double figures in not many more games. He had a good season, and I think he’s something that Spurs don’t have.

“He’s a big 6’4″, almost a bit like [a Fernando] Llorente figure but has really decent technique as well and a little bit of speed, he’s not an absolute lump up there – he’s got a turn of that initial pace about him. [He’s] one to watch out for as well.”

TIF Thoughts…

If Etete can have the sort of impact that Llorente did during his time with the club, especially last season, when the Spaniard contributed two goals and one assist in the Champions League for Spurs en route to the final, then the 18-year-old will surely prove popular with Lilywhites supporters in the future.

Hopefully, the youngster can stay injury-free next season and improve on his numbers from this season, as if he continues to score goals for the academy sides, then you would imagine that it would only be a matter of time before he is being considered for a spot in Jose Mourinho’s first team.
