Image for Newcastle United: Liam Kennedy discusses Photoshopped image

The Shields Gazette journalist Liam Kennedy has recently discussed a supposedly Photoshopped image of Bellagraph Nova Group (BNG) representatives.

Supposedly, the Singapore-backed company is at an ‘advanced stage’ of a takeover bid to purchase the Toon from Mike Ashley which they claimed themselves (via TalkSPORT).

However, an image appeared on social media which has BNG representatives standing with Barack Obama which looked as though it had been Photoshopped (via @TommyTweets_1).

So, in the latest episode of NUFC Matters on YouTube, Kennedy discussed the images and the supposed takeover bid from Bellagraph Nova Group.

To get things started a rather easy one. Who scored Newcastle's first league goal of the season?

He said: “Really, if somebody’s got so much money that they want to buy a football club – legitimate money, if that’s what you want to call it – then why would you have to Photoshop a picture with Obama?

“Yes, some of the photo was genuine, but then putting the two cousins in on the side was just daft.

“I knew when those photos came through on Saturday morning, it’s not my skill set, I knew somebody out there would find these original pictures if they weren’t real.

“Surely these people must know that as well, they must know they’re going to get found out. It shows a real naivety.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the journalist had to say, he clearly believes that people at BNG must have known that people were going to get to the bottom of the image which appeared to be Photoshopped.

Do you think the supposed bid from Bellagraph Nova Group is legitimate?

No, it's not a real one

No, it's not a real one

Yes, I think it's real

Yes, I think it's real

However, in ‘The Founders’ section of their website, there is an image of company representatives with Obama which does not appear to be Photoshopped (per Bellagraph Nova Group).

So, it certainly does seem odd that an image which did appear to have Obama Photoshopped into it emerged on social media.
