Many Newcastle United supporters have taken to social media to react to a recent tweet from @NUFC360 who shared a recent article from the Chronicle Live.
The article claims that whilst Saudi Arabia’s PIF is ‘on the sidelines at the moment’, they remain ‘keen’ on purchasing the Magpies. It also goes on to report that ‘there are murmurings about a workaround for assurances about state control – with immediate removal of directors if there was any state interference’.
Here is how a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful have responded to this latest update on Twitter.
Sounds great ???

How do they know any of this?

Really positive read, hopefully they get on with it behind closed doors though this time https://t.co/ukOZQAmIlV

The chronicle is your source?
You may as well have found it written on a half used napkin in the bin— Indykaila Jones (@Indykaila5) August 13, 2020
Have you given up hope of a takeover being completed this summer?
No
Yes
It’s clear from the above responses that whilst one supporter was positive with regards to the update, others questioned the legitimacy of these claims from the publication. Many fans continued to make their feelings on the subject known.
And the BeIN, Qatar, MENA region broadcast issues sail quietly off into the sunset. Sounds perfect?

I still don’t understand why the Reuben Brothers don’t just buy the club then take in big long term sponsorships & commercial deals from PIF. They can more than afford it on their own. Where there’s a will there’s a way…

Despite the Saudi-backed consortium pulling out of the deal to purchase the club at the end of last month, judging by the above, it seems not everybody has given up hope of a sale which would see Mike Ashley’s reign at the club end.
