The 23-year-old spent the 2019/20 season on loan with Swansea City and he made 43 Championship appearances for the Swans before he suffered an injury that ruled him out of the club’s play-off games.
This post continued to draw the attention of Toon fans. Some were happy, while others were surprised that their club got this deal done.
Just shows how crazy this club has been under Ashley, I’m actually surprised that the club managed to renew his contract. Good stuff ??

Woodman has been linked with the likes of Arsenal in the past, so to get his future on Tyneside tied down seems like a wise move and it will be interesting to see how he does in the 2020/21 season.
He aims to become the Toon’s number one and another year on loan with Swansea might help him achieve that goal; however, Martin Dubravka has played every Premier League game for Newcastle in the last two seasons, and he signed a six-year deal in October 2019.
This means Woodman might have some work to do, but it is clear that many Toon fans are pleased he has committed his future to Newcastle.
