A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from The Chronicle that contains a link to a recent live blog.
From here, they have claims from the Bellagraph Nova Group that state that the group are confident in closing out a deal to buy the Toon from Mike Ashley by the end of the month.
However, a report released on Wednesday morning claimed that Ashley is still committed to finding a solution to the Amanda Staveley bid.
As a result, he will not entertain offers from other groups that are not an improvement on the Staveley bid.
Ashley has already dismissed the BN Group’s opening offer of £280m, and these Newcastle fans think this is all ridiculous.
Do you believe this?
No, they aren't even close to buying the club
Yes, it will all be sorted soon
Seem dodgy to me

You honestly couldn’t make this stuff up

Close the deal and stop talking then… sick of the takeover circus. A group needs to finish the job and shut up until done

The interest from the BN Group emerged over the weekend, and since then, big claims involving Cristiano Ronaldo and Alan Shearer have followed though the bid has yet to get to Ashley and is still with his lawyers.
Sources close to Shearer have also distanced the former Newcastle striker from the bid, and many Toon fans are baffled by these takeover claims.
The amount of coverage these guys are getting in week 1 is ridiculous beyond belief. Maybe wait till a bid is accepted at least. You may be waiting a while, they’ll probably end up in the same bunker as Mauriss and Luke.

So they just walk into the data room a.k.a. just start their due diligence. Then they need to agree the price and to pass the fair EPL O&D test. All of that in the matter of a month? Flying pigs somewhere?

I know you guys have a job to do, but seriously. We’re back to silly season with takeover rumour after takeover rumour.
The last one got to the PL before any of us really believed it, it’s gonna need to be signed and sealed before we believe it now.— Rich Harle (@RJHarle) August 18, 2020
The fact that the group bid £20m below the asking price and have not even had discussions with Ashley yet suggests that the BN Group are not close to closing out a deal for the club and Ashley is still wanting to sell to the Staveley group.
It is said they are trying to work on a compromise, but if they don’t agree to the Premier League’s requests for more information or arbitration, then it is hard to see how that deal is saved.
It is also clear that a lot of Toon fans are unconvinced by this BN Group bid as well, so the Toon could be stuck with Ashley.
