Starting with an easy one, against which club did Shelvey make his Newcastle debut?

In the article, there is an interview with Amanda Staveley after her consortium withdrew its bid to buy Newcastle from Mike Ashley, where Staveley blames rival clubs and the Premier League for the collapse of the deal.

As per Ziegler’s tweet, the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur had opposed the takeover.

This has annoyed these Newcastle fans, who have expressed their opinions on this strongly.

Do you blame the Premier League and its clubs for this?

Yes, they didn't want Newcastle to become powerful

The deal for Staveley’s consortium to buy the Toon had been with the Premier League since April, but on July 30th, the consortium withdrew its offer and blamed the amount of time taken for the decision.

Staveley then followed this up by speaking to the media, and it is clear who she thinks is to blame for this failure.

This post continued to draw the attention of these Toon fans, who are furious.

The question for Newcastle fans is, what happens now?

They are devastated, and though Ashley has stated he is 100% committed to the deal with Staveley’s group, it remains to be seen what happens there.

There is another bidder in Henry Mauriss, who now believes to be in pole position to buy Newcastle (as per The Telegraph) after he made a bid for the club in June, so it is now up to him to prove that he is serious and buy the club.

The only good thing is that Ashley, via Lee Charnley, said that the club would now back Steve Bruce in the transfer market, so we will have to see what the future holds as the dust settles on this situation.
