Supporters of Newcastle United have been discussing the future of the Toon’s Japanese striker Yoshinori Muto.
According to Chronicle Live, the 28-year-old forward has been absent from pre-season training and his representatives have been told to find him a new club by the end of the transfer window.
Supposedly, Muto has some potential suitors in the Bundesliga, while clubs in La Liga are also being spoken to about a potential deal.
The Japanese attacker currently has two years left on his contract at St. James’ Park and a market value of £4.95m according to Transfermarkt.
The Chronicle shared the news that Muto ‘is looking for a new club’ on social media and asked supporters if they felt the Japanese striker had been given a fair chance, which had lots of them talking.
Yoshinori Muto is looking for a new club, having played for just four minutes after Project Restart.

Can understand why he’s not given a chance when Rondon was excellent for us and club spending £40m on Joelinton.
Now we need him more than ever and we’re looking to move him on, baffling.

He will go! And in a year or so he will make the footy news for being the best goal scorer for whatever team he goes to! I would put money on it.
Definitely a better striker than Big Joe but then again most people are….— two weeks in and i need a holiday (@Machina_uk) August 28, 2020
The Toon sealed the arrival of Muto during the summer of 2018 from Bundesliga outfit Mainz for a fee in the region of £9.5m (per Chronicle Live).
Has Yoshinori Muto been given a fair chance during his time at St. James' Park?
No, I don't think he has
Yes, he's not good enough
Presumably he’s horrendous in training. Can’t see any other explanation for his lack of involvement in a team that barely scored a goal.

He is just not up to Premier League at all.
Best we get some money and use it.— Paul (@maxii30) August 28, 2020
During the most recent Premier League season, the striker made just eight appearances in which he neither scored nor assisted a goal (per WhoScored).
Muto’s performances in the league earned him a 6.04/10 average rating which made him the club’s second-worst performer, ahead of only Kelland Watts, who played just 16 minutes of Premier League football for the Toon last term.
I don’t think he has been given much of a chance. His movement generally looks decent and he took his goal well against Man U. I’m sure he’d have scored more than 2 if he’d been given the same pitch time as Joelinton!

Useless good riddance

As can be seen in these responses from Newcastle supporters, they are clearly divided over whether Muto had a fair chance with the Toon or not.
