To get things started a rather easy one. Who scored Newcastle's first league goal of the season?

One of the players mentioned in this discussion was Michy Batshuayi and the possibility of him joining the Toon after he has been linked with a move to Tyneside this summer.

Judging by the journalist’s comments, it seems as if the Toon could be interested in signing Batshuayi, and in Kennedy’s opinion, he is an excellent player.

He said: “Yeah it would be a great signing for Newcastle obviously he’s had a little bit of stagnation over the last 18 months, but he’s an excellent player, he’s certainly better than what we’ve got and would be a player that I think they could well be interested in.

“Again, a lot depends on the money; a lot depends on the position Newcastle United get themselves in this summer.”

TIF Thoughts…

Batshuayi made just 16 league appearances for Chelsea last season and 15 of them were from the bench. He managed to score one league goal but he scored six in all competitions.

However, while he on loan was with Crystal Palace in the 2018/19 season he made 11 Premier League appearances, including nine starts and he scored five goals, so he proved in that little spell that he could score goals in the Premier League if he starts games.

The 16-goal Belgian international might not get much game time with Chelsea in the 2020/21 season because the Blues also have Timo Werner, Olivier Giroud, and Tammy Abraham in their squad.

So, perhaps he may leave Stamford Bridge, and if the Toon could get him then it could be a good move for both the player and Newcastle.
