Many Newcastle United supporters have been responding to a recent Twitter post from @NUFC360 in which they shared an article from the Shields Gazette in which they relayed the comments of Liam Kennedy and Miles Starforth regarding the takeover.
Despite the Saudi-backed consortium’s decision to pull out of the prospective takeover, it appears this saga is going to rumble on for at least a little while longer after the bid reached Downing Street last week.
Kennedy revealed that to his knowledge, Mike Ashley has legal teams ready to act as he remains committed to selling the club and that this entire thing ‘could go nuclear’ if the Sports Direct tycoon decides to ‘head down that route’.
Here is how a section of the St. James’ Park faithful have reacted to the post.
Imagine @MoneyMikeAshley‘s last act as owner of #nufc is to force its sale. It’d be the redemption story of our time. Almost brings a tear to the eye. Almost.

Are you confident that with Ashley's intervention, the takeover could be back on?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses that some of these supporters never thought they would be on the same side of a dispute as their current owner; however, it appears in this instance, they’re all desperate for the same outcome.
if he legally challenges them he will have the respect of all #NUFC Fans

You know the Premier League has messed up when the Newcastle fans and Ashley are on the same side.

Can he overturn 13 years of mismanagement in one fell swoop? No he cant but he can go along way in righting some of those wrongs by ensuring this takeover is approved.

Although it would be wrong to infer that all will be forgiven as far as Ashley is concerned, if the takeover was to be approved as a result of his efforts, it’s fair to say, based on some of these comments, some sections of the club’s support would at least gain a little more respect for the 55-year-old.
