A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Steve Wraith after he told Newcastle fans to keep putting pressure on the Premier League after the proposed takeover of the Toon was withdrawn.

To get things started a rather easy one. Who scored Newcastle's first league goal of the season?

The deal that would have seen Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium take control of Newcastle from Mike Ashley was withdrawn on 30th July with the Premier League failing to decide on the deal.

This has led to political pressure from many MPs, and even Prime Minister Boris Johnson has asked the Premier League for some clarity on what happened.

As well as this, a petition demanding an independent investigation into why the deal was withdrawn gained over 100,000 signatures, and it seems as if Wraith is asking for people to keep pushing for their desired outcome of an eventual Toon takeover.

However, these Newcastle fans appear to think that hopes of a Saudi-led bid being revived are dead.

Do you think the pressure will tell?

Yes, it will eventually

Yes, it will eventually

No, it is all in vain

No, it is all in vain

What is important for this takeover situation is that Ashley is thought to be trying to sort it himself and remains 100% committed to resolving the situation.

He is also considering legal action if the matter is not resolved, so in the end, Ashley could be the Toon’s saviour from his ownership if his efforts are successful.

While there some downbeat supporters, this post from Wraith did attract some more positive reactions from determined Newcastle fans.

Since the deal collapsed, the Premier League has said nothing, despite growing pressure on them. We think that the authorities should offer an explanation as the fans deserve to know what happened.

It will be intriguing to see what the next move is in this saga as the search for answers goes on.
