Supporters of Newcastle United have been reacting to a report which has emerged regarding the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund potentially revisiting a takeover of the club.
According to Chronicle Live, PIF are ‘keen’ to revisit the deal to take over the club from its current owner Mike Ashley.
However, their interest would be dependant upon whether or not the Premier League is willing to give a green light to the takeover of the Toon.
As stated in the report, though, that is believed to be a ‘huge if‘.
This report was relayed to the St. James’ Park faithful on Twitter on Tuesday morning by NUFC 360 and lots of supporters flocked to it to air their thoughts.
The Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) would be prepared to revisit the #nufc buyout. They’re still keen on the deal happening should the Premier League have a change of heart. https://t.co/BeDo8TNtA4

It was announced last week that the consortium which included Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund PIF, PCP Capital Partners and Reuben Brothers had ended its bid to purchase the North-East club (per BBC).
In an explanation of the decision, it was stated that PIF ‘ran out of patience‘ waiting for the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test to be concluded.
I am beginning to feel this deal will still get done and I suspect the P L would approve it rather than face all sorts of investigations

The final decision on the £300m takeover of the Toon had been with England’s top flight since April and Newcastle fans made it clear that they were still furious with the Premier League for dragging out the process.
Do you believe there is any chance of the Newcastle takeover deal being resurrected?
No, not going to happen
Yes, anything is possible
Change of heart? More like stop being corrupt and #ApproveTheNufcSale

A change of heart about what exactly???? There is no hint that they have rejected the deal… So what exactly is the problem? There is no clear reason.

As can be seen in these responses from Newcastle fans, there is clearly a mix of optimism that the deal can be resurrected and lingering frustration with the Premier League.
