A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from Mark Douglas that contains a link to an article with an interview from Richard Holden, the MP for North West Durham.
In the article, Holden claims that ‘there are things moving along‘ in regards to the Premier League’s refusal to comment on what happened with the failed takeover of Newcastle.
In his tweet, Douglas states that he has also heard similar things.
Speaking about the failed takeover of Newcastle United, Holden suggested that all of the pressure applied by numerous MPs and the Prime Minister on the Premier League is working.
Judging by Douglas’ tweet, it seems he has been told similar things, but neither Holden nor Douglas expand on what these developments might be specifically.
However, this post has drawn the attention of many Toon fans, who are keen to know what is going on.
Do you think anything is happening?
Yes, but not sure what
No, this is dead
What’s happening behind the scenes? Or is it classified ?

Since Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium withdrew its offer to buy Newcastle on 30th July, the Premier League has said nothing.
This seems strange considering Staveley instantly blamed the Premier League for the deal collapsing, and numerous MPs have sent letters asking for clarity.
Even Prime Minister Boris Johnson has asked for some clarity on what happened.
However, despite this, the Premier League has still refused to comment, although judging by what Holden said, there could be some movement on that behind the scenes.
This post from Douglas continued to draw the attention of these Newcastle fans.
I think this should be taken at face value. Positive and a clear indication that our fanbase have shown what they are capable off when we come together. We can’t predict the outcome but at the very least we’ve stood our ground and spoken with one voice. Well done all ?

Is the pressure working?… No

The reason for the PL stance is because they do not want to disclose real reasons for their intransigence namely highly “unconventional” goings-on within the PL. Something is rotten to the core and stinks.

So, it seems as if something may be happening, but what all that means for the failed takeover remains to be seen.
However, it does look like pressure from fans and politicians is having an influence, though we are not sure what the eventual outcome of this will be.
