A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Luke Edwards after the Daily Telegraph reporter posted a tweet discussing transfers and the Toon’s need for a centre-forward.
He stated that Newcastle need a striker and claimed that Steve Bruce knows this, but he pointed out that no one has done much business yet and asking prices are still the same as they were before the pandemic.
This has drawn the attention of these Newcastle fans who are fuming.
Do you expect Newcastle to sign a striker?
Yes, they will get someone
No, we won't sign anyone
Hasn’t impacted Chelsea Luke! We have a billionaire owner – no excuse

Luke why has the budget been decimated? Where has the money gone from January 35m? Surely this in addition to money from the end of season and the reduction in wages (players which have left) you’d appreciate we should have some funds to play with..

I have zero faith in the football club to do any business beyond Hendrick. Ashley and Bruce are both chancers in their own rights. It’ll very much be a wait and see how deep in the mire we are come January.

Why are “budgets decimated” when nearly all of the Club’s income comes from TV revenue and sponsorship money?
It’s nonsense.

In an interview prior to the Toon’s recent pre-season clash with Crewe Alexandra, Bruce said that getting in a striker wasn’t necessarily a priority because Dwight Gayle was looking good.
Gayle then went off injured in the match, and Bruce confirmed that he doesn’t know how serious that injury is yet, surely if it is serious, the Toon will look to bring in a striker. Even if Gayle’s injury isn’t serious, we feel that it may be wise for the Toon to strengthen in that position, because last season their strikers scored just six league goals between them.
With the likes of Leeds United and Crystal Palace now reportedly closing in on the signings of Rodrigo and Eberechi Eze, respectively, you could argue that the market is starting to move and the Toon should be looking to make additions.
This post led to many Newcastle fans mentioning Henry Mauriss, after Edwards had claimed that the American believed he was in pole position to buy Newcastle when Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed deal fell through.
I’m sure Mauriss will have the cash for him when he takes over @LukeEdwardsTele

What money have we got £30/35m ? ?
Do you honestly think Mike Ashley will spend any money ?
There is more chance of Henry Mauriss

Newcastle have so far added Jeff Hendrick and Mark Gillespie to the squad, but their top goalscorer last season was Jonjo Shelvey with six league goals and as a team, they only scored 38 league goals, so you would think they should be looking to sign some attacking reinforcements.
