A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Michael Chopra after he told Newcastle fans to ‘get the cans from the bin’ and that they should ‘watch this space’.
Chopra’s tweet came not even a week after Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium withdrew their offer to buy the Toon from Mike Ashley.
However, his tweet drew a huge amount of replies, many of which were from Toon fans who didn’t want to go through another takeover saga.
Are you annoyed with this tweet from Chopra?
Yes, just raises expectations for no reason
No, he must know something
At least elaborate a bit Michael…..?

If I was a public figure of any sort, I would not be doing this after everything that’s happened, unless I was 100%, set in stone certain…

Since the deal was withdrawn, a petition was launched, and Staveley blamed the Premier League for the deal’s collapse.
However, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, Staveley’s husband, has claimed that all members of the consortium would still do a deal, and the Reuben brothers, via Martin Cruddace, have also released a statement claiming that they still want to be part of this deal.
So, perhaps the takeover is not dead yet, and these fans had varied opinions on the claim.
Michael please don’t do this we have been heartbroken enough ??

Despite the encouraging signs, though, would any of it matter if the Premier League don’t make a decision on this takeover again?
That was ultimately why the Staveley group pulled out because of the time the process had taken, so what if it retakes the same amount of time?
There are also suggestions that the top ten of the Premier League are all against the takeover going through, which could also cause problems.
Ultimately this deal could be revived, but we agree with some of these Toon fans that Chopra’s tweet doesn’t help anybody.
