A lot of Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been sharing their thoughts on what the next step could be for the club regarding the possibility of the Saudi-backed takeover being resurrected.
This comes after Newcastle news Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post on their page asking their followers what they think the next step for the club will be after Premier League chief executive Richard Masters wrote a letter to politician Chi Onwurah after she asked the Premier League to explain their stance on the collapsed Saudi-takeover of Newcastle.
In their post, the Newcastle news Twitter page shared their thoughts on the explanation from the Premier League. It said: “The Premier League concluded that PIF and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are not separate entities. Staveley said they received “assurances from the highest possible level” that they are. The PL offered a chance for arbitration to solve the issue. PIF declined.”
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on the matter.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans responding to the post:
The Premier League concluded that PIF and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are not separate entities.

The PL offered chance for arbitration to solve the issue. PIF declined.
What now? #nufc

See how Staveley moves now. If they want badly enough, they’ll do what’s needed, can’t see this drama ending here.
Meanwhile, the club sits in limbo.

PL response is a first step. Not the conclusion to #nufctakeover. It’s the first step in positioning, counter claims and further calls for transparency. We’re all fatigued no doubt. However, PCP already knew this info. Strategists from the consortium will now move. Hang in there.

It is over to the Consortium now. They should make some clear moves and release a statement regarding this situation. Otherwise they should admit defeat and let the club to prepare properly for the next season #NUFC #NewcastleTakeover

It was revealed back in July that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, PCP Capital Partners and Reuben Brothers had withdrawn their interest in buying the North East club claiming that the “prolonged process under the current circumstances coupled with global uncertainty has rendered the potential investment no longer commercially viable.”
We need to know what PIF’s intentions are. If they want to fight this the fans will stick with it but if they don’t then let us get back to squabbling over the merits of Hendrick, boycotts, and whether to buy pies…..the life of a Toon fan?

Is it time to move on from this potential takeover now?
Yes, it's all over now
No, there's still hope
We have most definitely played our part now, we have forced the prem in to the public domain. It is back in the hands of the buyers now for sure, I’m by no means happy but this is all we could of achieved as fans.

One Newcastle fan responded to the post claiming that the takeover saga should end and the fans should move on from the matter.
Time to move on sadly. Unless the PIF come back with a positive response then i cant see this takeover happening and back to square one and staring at the championship like a huge open goal and us heading for the back of that net

While it’s good that Richard Masters has come out and written this letter to Onwurah to provide some clarity over the continued length of time it has taken the Premier League to come to a decision over the previously proposed takeover of Newcastle, it appears that it hasn’t fully put the matter to bed for the majority of these Newcastle fans who think there will still be some way to go before a final outcome is reached.
