Gavin Doyle, Gar Breen, Keith Plunkett and Sean Lawson discussed all things Liverpool on the latest edition of LFC Daytrippers’ Transfer Agenda Show, during which the panel spent some time talking about Marko Grujic.

Grujic has been a Liverpool player since joining the club from Serbian side Red Star Belgrade back in January 2016 for £6.3m. According to Transfermarkt, he was the first player that was purchased by the Reds during the tenure of Jurgen Klopp.

However, the midfielder has made just 14 senior appearances for Liverpool since then, spending some time on loan at Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff City, as well as joining Hertha Berlin on loan on two separate occasions, since becoming a Reds player.

There has been some speculation about the 24-year-old Serbian’s future this summer, with German publication Bild claiming that ‘Grujic can very well imagine a Hertha return’ and stating that the Bundesliga club could make a move for the midfielder on a permanent basis, as opposed to taking him on a third loan.

Plunkett discussed Grujic and the transfer fee that the Reds could potentially receive for him if he is sold this summer during this recent edition of LFC Daytrippers’ Transfer Agenda Show, saying: “I’d take £15-16m for him, not a bother.

“It’s an interesting one, they’ve had him for two years, they know what he can do – pay the money. Do Liverpool hold on and try and get more? Just cut your losses. He’s never going to make it. As Seanie said, loan after loan, it’s not a good sign, so I’d say just sell him on if they can. £15m? Great, take it.”

TIF Thoughts…

So, judging by his comments on the player, it appears that Plunkett believes that Liverpool should sell Grujic and he seems to think that £15m would be a fair transfer fee for the Reds to receive for the midfielder.

Considering that he has not featured for the Reds in a competitive senior fixture since the 2017/18 season and knowing that the Reds paid just £6.3m to sign him back in 2016, we feel that £15m would be a decent fee for the Merseyside club to receive for Grujic.
