2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

On the topic of Thiago, who has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer after telling Bayern his wishes to leave the club, Addison shared his thoughts on the Spaniard and the current situation regarding a possible move to Liverpool.

He said: “Will it be one that happens this summer? As far as we’re aware, no it won’t, but the links won’t go away. It’s understandable that fans are excited about him. He’s a player that I absolutely love to watch, he’s one of those players that really gets you excited.

“He is that sort of level of player, I think he’s a world-class midfielder, the more speculation and that sort of thing that’s going on around Gini Wijnaldum, the more you think maybe it could happen. Look, it’s one of those we just have to wait and see certainly, at the moment, Liverpool’s stance is that it won’t happen, but whether that changes in the future, who knows?”

Thiago signed to Bayern back in 2013 for a fee of £22.5 million after working his way through the youth system at Barcelona. During his time at the German club, the 29-year-old has gone on to make 232 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored 31 goals, provided 37 assists and won a lot of titles and trophies along the way.

However, the midfielder, who is currently valued at £43.2 million, has had to deal with his fair share of injury issues throughout his career.

TIF Thoughts…

It seems that according to Addison, Liverpool’s links with Thiago will continue on through the current summer transfer window.

With Bayern still participating in the 2019/20 Champions League competition, it will be interesting to see if the club would then begin to make a deal with Liverpool or anyone else regarding a potential exit for Thiago after they end their current Champions League journey.
