2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

After it was recently reported by football journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi on his official Twitter page that Liverpool and Bayern have reached an agreement for a four-year deal that would see Thiago move to Liverpool, Smith shared his thoughts on the matter.

He said: “The profile of the player, I think he probably suits what [Jurgen] Klopp’s looking for. I think for a while we’ve been missing that ‘needle-y’ player, maybe another one that can complement a [Naby] Keita in a way or kind of similar to what [Philippe] Coutinho might have been able to offer us.

“I love the fact that Klopp’s now at a club where he can raid Bayern players and it’s not the other way around. I think that’s a really nice predicament for him to be in.”

The midfielder signed for Bayern back in 2013 for a fee of £22.5 million after playing his way through the youth system at Spanish giants Barcelona.

During his time at Bayern, Thiago has gone on to make 233 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored 31 goals, provided 37 assists and won a lot of titles along the way.

However, the midfielder, who is currently valued at £43.2 million, has suffered many injury issues throughout his career.

His latest appearance for Bayern came in their 8-2 thrashing of his previous club Barcelona in which he earned himself a match rating of 7.16/10 (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

Despite the fact that Bouhafsi has claimed that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs to send Thiago to Liverpool this summer, it would seem unlikely for there to be any sort of official announcement regarding the potential move until Bayern end their Champions League run.
