2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

On the subject of Liverpool possibly signing a centre-half this summer, Pearce named White as one potential name that the Reds could be interested in signing this summer.

He said: “I think Ben White is certainly someone that Liverpool have watched previously, of course, he had a good season with Leeds [United], although I know he’s gone back to Brighton and Brighton have since made it publicly clear that they are very reluctant to sell him but of course, I’m sure there’s a price that they’d be willing to do business.”

As Pearce mentioned in the podcast, White spent the entirety of the 2019/20 season on loan from Brighton at Leeds United in which he made a total of 49 appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in which he managed to score one goal and provide two assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

After his loan spell at Elland Road ended, White, who is currently valued at £4.95 million according to Transfermarkt, returned to his parent club, Brighton.

TIF Thoughts…

With Liverpool having sold Dejan Lovren to Zenit Saint Petersburg in recent weeks, White could be a useful replacement for the departed Croatian, having been such a regular figure for Leeds in their promotion-winning season.

However, as Pearce said, they would first have to work out a deal with Brighton, which could prove to be difficult due to their apparent reluctance to let him go this summer.
