Liverpool YouTuber Craig Houlden has expressed his confidence over a potential summer transfer move from the Reds for Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.
On the subject of Sarr, who has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks, Houlden shared his thoughts on the potential move for the winger.
He said: “This is one link that I believe we’re genuinely going to try and make happen for a number of reasons this summer. Firstly, there’s the fact that he’s the type of player we need to supplement our attack.
“Although he’s still a raw talent, there is an undoubted talent and undoubted ability there and we know, as with Sadio Mane, that Jurgen Klopp will absolutely improve Sarr even further if he came to Liverpool.
“Then there’s the fact that he looks up to [and] is very friendly with his international Senegalese teammate Sadio Mane as well, and I’m sure that Sadio Mane will be filling his ear full of how great life is at Liverpool, how great the team spirit is, what a wonderful coach Jurgen Klopp is to work with and will give a glowing reference of life at Liverpool.”
The 22-year-old winger signed to Watford back in the 2019 summer transfer window from French side Stade Rennais in a deal worth £27 million. Sarr, who is currently valued at £22.05 million, made a total of 30 appearances for Watford across all competitions in his first season in England in which he scored six goals and provided six assists for his teammates along the way.
In the 28 Premier League appearances he made for the club last season, Sarr’s performances earned him a season rating of 6.71/10, making him Watford’s sixth-highest rated player for the campaign, which ultimately ended with them being relegated from the top flight.
Would Ismaila Sarr be a good fit at Liverpool?
It appears that Houlden has a lot of belief that Liverpool will try their best to sign Sarr from Watford this summer. Considering how the Reds are the reigning Premier League champions, a move to Merseyside in the coming weeks could be more alluring for Sarr instead of playing in the Championship with Watford.
