2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

On the topic of a potential summer transfer move for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, who has been linked with a move to Anfield in the past as well as Manchester United, Lynch shared his thoughts on the winger and a possible move to Merseyside.

He said: “Given his age and his profile and what he’s done so far, Jadon Sancho would be a fantastic Liverpool signing, for me. I know at the moment that’s a difficult sell and Liverpool would not be able to guarantee him the playing time that Manchester United would, so I completely understand why they’re not in there – and also, the figures that are getting bandied about are absolutely crazy.

“I think Liverpool’s idea is to sign Sancho before he hits that sort of valuation, but from what I’ve seen of him, I really like him, he looks like a really good fit for a Klopp side, I think.

“It remains to be seen what Liverpool do about the fact that that front three is getting older together and ageing together. At some point, you’re going to have to do something, but I think that their idea obviously is to make that move before he becomes a superstar at Dortmund.

“In terms of players, I’d quite have liked to have seen him at Anfield at some point, but I don’t think that’s ever going to happen now.”

Would Jadon Sancho be a regular starter for Liverpool?

The former Manchester City winger, who is currently valued at a staggering £105.3 million according to Transfermarkt, signed to Dortmund back in 2017 for a fee of £7.05 million from the Manchester club.

Since he made his senior debut for the German side back in 2017, Sancho has gone on to score 34 goals and provide 43 assists in 99 total appearances for Lucien Favre’s team across all competitions (per Transfermarkt).

The recent 2019/20 Bundesliga season saw the Englishman make 32 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals and providing 16 assists throughout. Sancho’s performances in those league appearances earned him a season rating of 7.64/10, making him Dortmund’s highest-rated player for the campaign (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

Looking at his impressive goals and assists record for Dortmund since he arrived in Germany, as well as his eye-watering current market value, it would certainly be safe to assume that Liverpool or any other club would have to shell out a huge sum of money to secure Sancho’s signature this summer.
