2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

On the topic of which current Liverpool players could be in danger of leaving the club this summer, Pearce shared his thoughts on the matter, including what he thinks will happen with the German shot-stopper.

He said: “[Loris] Karius will [leave]. I think Liverpool are very keen to find a new home for him. There’s no way back at Liverpool for him that I can see. I think there was some interest recently from Montpellier. Liverpool are still hoping to get five or six million for him. Of course, they did feel at one point that he would be joining Besiktas permanently, but that fell through.”

Karius first signed to the Merseyside club back in the 2016 summer transfer window from FSV Mainz for a fee of £5.58 million.

In the 2018 Champions League final against Real Madrid, Karius was at fault for two goals that led to Liverpool losing 3-1 to the Spanish club on the night. Since then, the German had been on loan at Turkish side Besiktas before he ended the loan deal back in May and returned to Anfield.

TIF Thoughts…

It appears that Pearce seems fairly certain that Karius will not be continuing his career at Liverpool, which is a shame. The best thing for Karius now would be that he can move to a club where he feels happy and is getting regular game time to get his career back on track.
