2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

After RMC Sport journalist Loic Tanzi shared a post on his official Twitter page claiming that French club Amiens are negotiating a loan deal for Lewis with an option to buy the full-back from Liverpool, Houlden shared his thoughts on the player, his future at Anfield and his potential move to France.

He said: “I know from what I’ve read and I know from people who’ve spoken to coaches at Liverpool, that they really do rate Adam Lewis as a prospect now, just because we brought in Kostas Tsimikas and we have Andy Robertson there, doesn’t mean that there isn’t potentially a future for Adam Lewis at Liverpool Football Club – and if there’s not – if [Jurgen] Klopp decides that there isn’t a future for him, at least going out and getting game time like that in France will increase his value and his experience for any potential suitors that might look to come in and take him down the line.”

After working his way through the youth system at Liverpool, Lewis made his senior debut for the club back in February during Liverpool’s FA Cup fourth-round replay win over Shrewsbury Town at Anfield (per LFC).

The 20-year-old left-back signed a new long-term contract at the Merseyside club last month.

TIF Thoughts…

With Liverpool having recently signed Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas as someone to provide competition to Andy Robertson, first-team chances for Lewis may be hard to come by for the foreseeable future.

In that case, maybe a loan move away from Anfield could be beneficial to Lewis if he can get some playing minutes under his belt elsewhere.
