Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

In this episode, McGilligan discussed all of the latest transfer rumours regarding Leeds United, but he was very quick to dismiss one particular story.

It has been claimed that the Whites are looking to bring Lewis Cook back to Elland Road this summer, but McGilligan was quick to dismiss those rumours.

It seems as if McGilligan thinks the Whites should be looking at other targets rather than the 23-year-old and that he would probably cost the Whites a fair amount of money.

He said: “If you’re looking at players that Leeds need to sign I don’t think Lewis Cook is on the to-do list, I don’t see why he would be one who we would bring in, in terms of players that we need to bring in.

“I think he’s a very good player, but has he done it at that level? Has he made his mark? Is he going to be that signing that Leeds have to go and get to reach that next level to be able to compete, or do Leeds need to be looking in a better market right now?

“Young English talent, of course, is going to cost Leeds a lot of money.”

Do you want Cook back?

No, we have better players in the current squad than him

Yes, would love him back

TIF Thoughts…

Cook was sold by Leeds to the Cherries in the summer of 2016 for £6.3m and he has gone on to make 85 appearances and has scored no goals and provided three assists.

Last season he made 27 appearances in the Premier League as the Cherries were relegated, so maybe McGilligan is right, and the Whites need to be looking somewhere else.

In midfield, Leeds have the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich, who have proven their worth to Marcelo Bielsa, so do they need to sign Cook?

It certainly seems that in McGilligan’s view, the Whites would be best served looking elsewhere.
