Leeds United YouTuber Conor McGilligan has been sharing his thoughts on the possibility of the Yorkshire club signing Arsenal defender Rob Holding.
This comes after McGilligan recently released a video on his Leeds-themed YouTube channel In Full Swing where he spoke about the latest transfer rumours surrounding Marcelo Bielsa’s side at the moment.
After it was recently reported that Holding is one of Leeds’ defensive transfer targets this summer, McGilligan had this to say on the matter.
He said: “Could I see it happening predictability-wise? Yes, I could see this happening, reason being is because he plays that football out from the back, he’s a decent player on the ball, tall, sort of fits the Leeds blueprint, he’s cheap as well. I think this could happen, I really do.”
Arsenal signed Holding from Bolton Wanderers back in the 2016 summer transfer window for a fee of £2.7 million. Since then, the 24-year-old has gone on to make a total of 78 appearances for the London club.
Holding’s latest appearance for Arsenal came in their 2-1 win over Chelsea in the FA Cup final in which he earned himself a match rating of 6.68/10, making him Arsenal’s sixth-highest rated player on the day (per WhoScored).

With Holding having made a total of 39 appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League since he arrived at the Emirates, he would potentially provide Leeds with his experience of playing in the top-flight if he were to make the move to Elland Road this summer.
Also, with Leeds having a reported third bid of £25 million for Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White rejected, this could result in Leeds giving up their chase for White and move on to trying to sign Holding instead.
