Footballer and Leeds United fan Paddy Miller has been sharing his thoughts on a potential summer move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth.

This comes after Miller recently appeared on the latest episode of the Leeds-themed Talking Shutt podcast, where he spoke about a range of topics concerning Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

After it was reported last month in The Sun that Leeds were weighing up a £15m bid for Argentina international Foyth, Miller shared his thoughts on this potential move.

He said: “I think if you’re looking at Foyth from Spurs where they’re putting £15m on it, you could go in for him now for £15m and wait to see if Ben White comes down to £25m, £23m if you hold out. So it’s one of them where if we’re looking at spending £70-80m in a transfer window, if those two players became available for say, £38-40m, you’d probably take them both with their age.”

Foyth signed to the north London club back in the 2017 summer transfer window from Argentinian side Estudiantes for a fee of £11.7m.

Since then, the 22-year-old, who is currently valued at £12.15m, has made a total of 32 appearances for Spurs across all competitions in which he has managed to score one goal during his time at the club (per Transfermarkt).

As Miller mentioned in the podcast, Leeds are currently pursuing a permanent deal to sign Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White after they had two bids of £18.5m and £22m rejected by the club.

TIF Thoughts…

After having their approaches for White rejected by Brighton so far, it’s very possible that Leeds could walk away from trying to sign their former loan man and instead move their attention to Foyth, who could end up being a cheaper option for the Elland Road outfit this summer.
