Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that the club, along with West Ham United, Aston Villa and Newcastle United, are interested in the summer signing of Crystal Palace midfielder James McCarthy.
According to a report by 90min, Leeds have ‘made their interest known’ to Palace regarding a move for the 29-year-old, with it being stated that Marcelo Bielsa’s side ‘consider him the perfect player to add some Premier League experience’ to their squad, ahead of their first season in the top flight for 16 years.
After the reports were relayed on Twitter by All Leeds TV, fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with many not seeming overly keen on their club making a move for the midfielder.
Average player. Need 3-4 top quality signings.

Wouldn’t have him near Leeds, he’s rubbish. And is always injured

It is rather understandable that many of these Leeds fans are not blown away with the link to McCarthy, as the player enjoyed a rather unspectacular season for Palace. In featuring 33 times in the Premier League he averaged a disappointing WhoScored match rating of just 6.42/10 – ranking him as Palace’s 18th-best player last term.
Would you like to see Leeds make a move for McCarthy this summer?
Yes
No
It would appear that many more Leeds fans feel the same way.

Nope I’d actually rather keep our midfield as it is rather than have him too slow for murder ball

Another less than mediocre multi-millionaire????

As such, despite the Premier League experience of McCarthy, it would very much appear from the comments of Leeds fans that they would rather their club didn’t make a move for the 29-year-old this summer.
