Talking the Blues podcast pundit George Costigan has recently heaped praise on Everton winger Yannick Bolasie.

The DR Congo attacker has been situated at Goodison Park since the summer of 2016 after Toffees forked out a whopping £26.01m to seal his arrival from Crystal Palace (per Transfermarkt).

Since then, Bolasie has made just 32 appearances for the Merseyside outfit in which he has scored just two goals and assisted four (per Transfermarkt).

In Everton’s recent pre-season 3-3 draw with Blackpool, the 31-year-old forward featured and the Liverpool Echo said of him: ‘Worked hard in his cameo and tested the Blackpool ‘keeper with a stinging drive. Carried the ball well.’

In the latest episode of the Talking the Blues podcast, Costigan discussed Bolasie and praised the experienced winger.

He said: “Bolasie, on the other hand [compared to Muhamed Besic], looked delighted to be out there.

“I mean, he’s always fun to watch because he’s always playing with a smile on his face but he was very positive and your heart did lift as he just ran at people.

“[It was like], ‘go on then, if you miss me I’m past you’ and he won’t have done his cause or our cause in terms of how much you might ask for him any harm.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what Costigan had to say about Bolasie, seemingly he believes the winger’s performance against the Seasiders was a positive one and it may help find a buyer for him if the club is looking for one.

Do you think Everton will sell Yannick Bolasie this summer?

Yes, I think we might

However, as the 31-year-old forward only has a market value of £3.6m according to Transfermarkt, it seems likely that the Toffees would not get a fee anywhere near the £26.01m that they paid for him four years ago.
