The Athletic’s Greg O’Keeffe has been discussing some players who may depart Everton in this summer’s transfer window.

During last season, the Toffees shipped out nine players from Goodison Park, four of which were on free transfers and the other five reeled in a total of £72.45m (per Transfermarkt).

However, with Carlo Ancelotti’s outfit having finished in their lowest position in the Premier League since the 2003/04 season (per Transfermarkt), it is clear that more players need to make way.

So, in the latest episode of The Athletic’s Gwlad Tidings podcast, O’Keeffe discussed player sales and mentioned two possible departures.

He said: “I know you [listeners] probably all have your views on who should come and who should go.

“Obviously Marcel Brands, as ever, is tasked with getting some players off the wage bill. There might be some big names joining that list.

“Of course, there’s the futures of Jonjoe Kenny and Tom Davies – whether or not Kenny comes back and deputises for Seamus [Coleman] or whether Tom Davies is considered for loan or just kept right in the mix for the central midfield roles next season, we will see.”

So, seemingly, the journalist hinted that there may be some “big names” joining the list of departures from Goodison Park this summer as Ancelotti looks to rebuild the squad.

So far this summer, there have been very few rumours circling around of first-team Everton players leaving. However, one man who has been touted for a departure is Fabian Delph.

According to the Daily Star, Leeds United are looking to acquire his services from the Toffees. So, it will certainly be interesting to see if that link comes to fruition.
