The Liverpool Echo’s head of sport David Prentice has recently discussed which players he believes should leave Everton this summer.

During the 2019/20 Premier League season, the Toffees endured a disappointing term which saw them finish 12th – the Merseyside club’s lowest finishing position in the top flight since the 2003/04 season.

So far this summer, eight players have left Goodison Park, with only Maarten Stekelenburg, Morgan Schneiderlin and Kieran Dowell finding new clubs while Djibril Sidibe returned to AS Monaco (per Transfermarkt).

In the latest episode of the Liverpool Echo’s Royal Blue: The Everton FC Podcast, Prentice discussed which other players he felt should be leaving the club.

To kick-off this quiz on Carlo Ancelotti on the side of easy, which side was his first game on the touchline at Goodison Park against?

He said: “Well, it’s the usual suspects that we’ve been trying to move on for years and years and years and found very, very difficult to do so.

“In terms of squad, in terms of creating wages and generating wages, that means Yannick Bolasie, [Muhamed] Besic, Sandro Ramirez, but ideally permanently – not just on loan so that that’s no longer a drain on the football club.

“If you’re talking about the squad at present – and we mentioned him last week – I still think the most vulnerable man in the entire squad is Gylfi Sigurdsson.

“But again, the big problem there is trying to find somebody that will take those wages on board and offer us a transfer fee, we’re going to take an enormous loss on him when he eventually does move on.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what Prentice had to say, he believes that Bolasie, Besic, Sandro and Sigurdsson are all potential departures for the Toffees this summer.

Which of the four players do you most want to see leave Everton this summer?

Bolasie

Besic

Sigurdsson

Sandro

Sandro

Interestingly, all of those players bar Sandro played in Everton’s recent 3-3 draw with League One side Blackpool (per Liverpool Echo).

However, that could suggest that they are part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, the Italian manager was getting a better look at them or he is trying to interest a potential buyer.

Sandro was not involved at Bloomfield Road as he only returned to pre-season training this week, but the club is yet to receive any transfer offers for him (per Liverpool Echo).

So, it will certainly be interesting to see which, if any, of the four players listed by Prentice depart Goodison Park this summer.
