According to recent reports, Watford winger Gerard Deulofeu has admitted that it is ‘likely’ he will leave the club this summer, amid reports of interest from Crystal Palace.

In a recent interview with Onda Cero, the 26-year-old stated it is ‘most likely there is an exit to another club’ for him this summer, and while he also added that he doesn’t ‘have anything clear yet’ in terms of where he will be playing his football next term, Crystal Palace have been linked with a loan move for the winger, as per the Evening Standard.

Crystal Palace fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Palace 19/20 season quiz. We'll start off with an easy one... Which side did Palace face on the opening day of the 19/20 Premier League season?

Since joining Watford from Barcelona in what was an £11.70 million deal back in 2018, Deulofeu has gone on to make 70 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists.

Last season, the Spaniard made 28 Premier League appearances, scoring four goals and providing five assists, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.90 – ranking him as the club’s third-best performer in the league.

However, following Watford’s relegation on the final day of the season, it now appears as if the £18 million-rated man will be leaving the Hornets this summer, following his most recent comments.

TIF Thoughts…

With Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha also reportedly declaring that he too would like a move away from his club this summer, it would seem as if Palace could well be in the market for a replacement.

And, considering the fact that Deulofeu’s return of goals and assists were marginally better than Zaha’s last season, with the Ivory Coast international scoring four goals and providing three assists over his 38 Premier League appearances, it would seem that if Palace were to make a move for the 26-year-old, it may not be a step down from Zaha at all.
