According to reports by the Daily Mail, Ryan Fraser is weighing up a £50,000-a-week offer from Crystal Palace – nearly double what he earned at Bournemouth.

The winger is available as a free agent this summer after his contract expired with Bournemouth, where he was earning around £27,000-a-week.

It is said that the south coast side were prepared to increase the 26-year-old’s wages, however, Fraser informed the club that he would rather run his contract down and then leave on a free upon its expiry.

The Scotland international also rejected a short-term contract which would have seen him be available for Bournemouth’s remaining fixtures of the season following the unexpected break from the season, in which the Cherries eventually suffered relegation on the final day of their Premier League campaign.

However, with the £15.75 million-rated Fraser no longer associated with Bournemouth, Crystal Palace were free to approach the 26-year-old, and have reportedly offered him a contract on almost double the money he was on at the Vitality Stadium.

TIF Thoughts…

While Fraser did not enjoy the most prolific of campaigns last term, scoring just one goal and providing four assists over his 28 Premier League appearances, his form from the 2018/19 season is enough to prove that he has the ability to shine in the top flight.

That year, Fraser scored seven goals and provided a remarkable 14 assists – the second-highest number of assists in the Premier League that season, behind only Eden Hazard – and averaged a highly impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.08.

As such, it would appear that Fraser has the potential to be well worth the £50,000 a week that Palace are said to have offered him, particularly as they will not have to pay a transfer fee.
