Crystal Palace fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Palace 19/20 season quiz. We'll start off with an easy one... Which side did Palace face on the opening day of the 19/20 Premier League season?

Last season, Eze made 46 appearances in the Championship, during which he scored 14 goals and provided his teammates with eight assists (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk).

Roy Hodgson’s side struggled for goals in the top flight last season, scoring just 31 times in 38 games and only Norwich City, who were relegated, scored less in the entire division (via Sky Sports) – highlighting the need to add some goalscoring threat and creativity to the Eagles’ attack.

When discussing what the £8.1m-rated player will bring to the side, here is what Jones had to say: “Flair, the skill, the ability to take on players, a good finish on him as well – which is something that we need.

“Whether he plays wide right, which is probably his favoured position, or he can play across the front three – which is brilliant.

“It’s today been reported that we have finally agreed a fee of £16m plus £3.5m add-ons for Eberechi Eze, so, obviously, bringing the total to £19.5m.”

TIF Thoughts…

According to WhoScored.com, Eze’s average performance rating in the second tier last season was an impressive 7.36/10, which led to him being named in the website’s Championship best eleven.

Some of the player’s strengths are said to be his ability to dribble, take good set-pieces, shoot from distance and keep hold of possession.

Based on the player’s strengths, Jones’ assessment of what he will add to the side and the fact that the Eagles struggled in front of goal throughout the 2019/20 season, we can conclude that Eze will likely be a good addition to the Crystal Palace squad.
