According to recent reports, Leeds United are preparing an offer for Brentford winger, Said Benrahma – with the likes of West Ham United, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester City also interested in the Algerian.
The report by The Telegraph states that Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is ‘looking to bolster his attack for Leeds’ first campaign back in the top-flight for 16 years’ and that ‘Benrahma has been earmarked as a player who would add quality’ to the Leeds first team.
However, a host of Premier League clubs, including Crystal Palace, are also said to be extremely keen on the winger this summer, who Brentford value at £25 million.
And it is not hard to see why. Over the course of the last Championship season, the 24-year-old scored 17 goals and provided 9 assists for the west London side, averaging a highly impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.49 – ranking him as the club’s best performer.
And, despite the fact that Brentford are looking for £25 million for the winger, it is reported that the interested parties hope that a deal could be done for less than £20 million.
TIF Thoughts…
With Wilfried Zaha once again linked with a move away from south London this summer, it would very much appear that Benrahma could be an ideal replacement for the 27-year-old.
Would you be keen for Palace to make a move for Said Benrahma in this transfer window?
Yes
No
Having said this, with no Premier League experience to his name as yet, the signing of the £9.45 million-rated Algerian would bring with it an element risk. But, off the back of the season he had last time out, it looks a risk very much worth taking for Palace.
