Euro Football Daily recently posted a YouTube video which included a list of ‘10 players bigger than their club’ – and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish was included on this list at number 10.

The £36m-rated 24-year-old is an Aston Villa academy graduate, in addition to being the current Villa captain, and it may be fair to say that he played a significant role for the Villans in the 2019/20 campaign.

In this 2019/20 season quiz, do you remember who scored Villa's first PL goal of the season?

Grealish scored eight goals and provided six assists for Villa in England’s top flight last season, ending the campaign as his club’s top goalscorer and top assist provider in the league.

As well as that, Grealish earned the highest overall rating (7.23/10) of any Villa player to have made a Premier League appearance for the Birmingham-based club during the 2019/20 season, according to WhoScored.

Here is what was said about Grealish during this recent video from Euro Football Daily: “Grealish was not only the difference-maker in the final third, but was integral in getting Villa up the field, leading his side in dribbles and getting fouled 167 times – more than anyone else in the Premier League.

“As a consequence, only [Manchester] City and Liverpool scored more set-piece goals than Villa’s 15.

“Retaining Premier League status means Villa can probably keep their stars for now, but another season like this – at [24] years old – is sure to see Grealish dream of better things.”

Do you think that Grealish will leave Villa in the current transfer window?

TIF Thoughts…

So, judging by these comments, it’s clear that Euro Football Daily believes that Grealish was Villa’s most important player last season and that may not be too surprising, considering that he either scored or assisted over one-third of Villa’s Premier League goals last season.

They also suggest that the 24-year-old may have his eye on a move to a club competing higher up the table than Villa, who finished the 2019/20 season in 17th place in England’s top flight, unless the club can perform at a higher level next term.

However, considering that the player has been linked with both Manchester United and Manchester City this summer, Villa may even struggle to keep hold of the player beyond the current transfer window.
