Speaking recently on the Ask Ornstein YouTube show, David Ornstein stated that Arsenal are not pursuing a deal for Barcelona forward Philippe Coutinho.
Since moving to Barcelona from Liverpool in what was a £130.5 million deal back in 2018, Coutinho has gone on to make 76 appearances for the club, scoring 21 goals and providing 11 assists.
However, the 28-year-old admitted that things ‘things didn’t work out’ for him at Barcelona before he moved on a loan deal to Bayern Munich for the 2019/20 season, where he has so far scored nine goals and provided eight assists over 35 appearances.
It appears that the Brazilian international remains unwanted by the Catalan club this summer, with reports suggesting that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with the player ahead of a loan deal for next season.
However, in contrast to these reports, Ornstein stated that at present, Coutinho is not a player that Arsenal are chasing.
He said: “We know that Arsenal have been offered Coutinho in the past and quite possibly recently. We also don’t know how this window will develop, things can change at any moment. But, as things stand, it’s not a player that they are pursuing.”
TIF Thoughts…
As such, it would appear that contrary to the reports claiming that the £50.4 million-rated man has already agreed a deal with Arsenal regarding a move to the club, Ornstein is of the belief that Coutinho is not a player that Arsenal are even interested in.
Are you disappointed to hear that Arsenal are not currently in for Coutinho?

As for which reports are to be believed, time will tell as to whether Arsenal end up signing the player over the coming weeks.
