Charles Watts, the Arsenal correspondent for Goal, discussed Dani Ceballos’ future during a recent YouTube video.

The 23-year-old spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan at the Emirates Stadium but is due to return back to Real Madrid unless the two clubs can come to some sort of an agreement that would see the Spaniard extend his stay in London.

Ceballos made 24 appearances in the Premier League this season, producing two assists but his performances have been far more consistent since Mikel Arteta’s arrival at the club in December. The right-footed midfielder played the entire 90 minutes during Arsenal’s recent FA Cup final victory over Chelsea at Wembley, highlighting how much faith the head coach has in him to deliver during such a key fixture.

On the subject of Ceballos’ future, here is what the journalist had to say: “Arsenal are hoping to get him for another season on loan and they’ll probably have an agreement to turn that permanent at the end of next season. Ceballos is loving it at Arsenal, he’s been brilliant since the restart, absolutely fantastic. I thought he was great again at Wembley so I’m expecting that one to happen.”

TIF Thoughts…

According to Transfermarkt, the Spain international is currently valued at £28.8m and it seems Watts is confident the club can come to some sort of an agreement with the La Liga giants whereby they can agree on a transfer in advance of signing the player permanently in the summer of 2021.
