West Bromwich Albion are reportedly keen on signing Oxford United centre-back and alleged Leeds United target Robert Dickie according to the Sunday Mirror, as per Whites news website MOT Leeds News.

This article from MOT Leeds News states that Fulham and Newcastle United are allegedly considering a move for the 24-year-old centre-back, as well as Leeds United and West Brom, with the Baggies thought to have the defender ‘on their shortlist’.

To kick off this quiz on West Bromwich Albion's 2019/20 season, how many points did the Baggies end the 2019/20 Championship campaign with?

Dickie is coming off the back of an impressive campaign in England’s third tier in which he helped Oxford United to reach the play-off final, which they lost 2-1 to Wycombe Wanderers.

The defender featured in 34 of Oxford United’s 35 league fixtures during the regular 2019/20 campaign and he also appeared in all three of Oxford United’s League One play-off games, meaning that the defender made the second-highest number of overall appearances in League One of any Oxford United player last season.

He earned an impressive overall rating of 7.26 from his 34 appearances during the regular league season, according to WhoScored, which made him the eighth-highest rated player to have made more than the average number of appearances in England’s third-tier for the 2019/20 campaign.

With all of that in mind, as well as the fact that Dickie has got less than a year remaining on his current contract, it may not be too surprising that the defender is said to be attracting interest from teams higher up the English football pyramid than Oxford United.

TIF Thoughts…

While Dickie enjoyed a positive campaign last season, he has never played in England’s top-flight and he only ever played 44 minutes in the Championship. With that in mind, it is arguable that it could be too soon for him to move to a Premier League side.
