Joe Crann, who reports on Sheffield Wednesday for The Sheffield Star, recently wrote an article in which he shared the latest news regarding Kieran Lee.

Lee first joined the Owls on a free transfer back in July 2012 and the Manchester United academy graduate has made a total of 217 appearances for the Owls during his time at Hillsborough. He is out of contract with the Owls at present, however, while ‘there’s still been no official word from Sheffield Wednesday’ with regard to his future, the club and the player are said to be ‘keen to extend their relationship if the terms are right,’ according to Crann’s recent article for The Sheffield Star.

We will look at Marcelo Bielsa to kick off this quiz on the Championship's managers, which of these national teams has the Leeds United boss managed?

The Owls are set to begin the 2020/21 Championship campaign at a disadvantage, as they will be deducted 12 points ‘for breaking spending rules.’ With that in mind, Crann suggested that Lee may be a valuable asset for Garry Monk’s squad next season, explaining that the Owls will need to have players that are ‘up for a fight’ due to their points deduction and ‘no Wednesdayite would ever question Lee’s commitment to the cause.’

TIF Thoughts…

Last season, the £360k-rated Lee made 28 league appearances for Wednesday, earning an uninspiring overall rating of 6.49 from those games according to WhoScored. This made him Wednesday’s joint-16th-highest rated player for the 2019/20 campaign.

With that in mind, and knowing that Wednesday finished just eight points above the relegation zone last season, it may be fair to say that even if the Owls do manage to tie Lee down to a new deal, they may still require a better central midfielder than him if they are to avoid relegation next season.
