According to recent reports, Leeds United are interested in a summer move for Torino centre-back Lyanco.

A report by Portuguese newspaper O Jogo (via Sport Witness) states that Leeds, as well as Sporting Lisbon, Lille and Bologna, are interested in the defender, who Torino value at €10 million (£9 million).

Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

Sporting have reportedly made an offer for the Brazilian defender of €5 million (£4.5 million) for 60% of his rights, however, Torino have declined the bid as they are aware of other interest in the 23-year-old, and believe they can get their full asking price from another side.

Lyanco joined Torino in what was a £6.3 million deal from Brazilian side Sao Paulo, but has only gone on to make 28 appearances for the club after being loaned out, as well as suffering problems with injury.

Last season, the defender made just 18 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A side, with 17 of those appearances coming in the league.

However, this does not seem to have put off potential buyers of the defender, with Premier League new boys Leeds said to be in the race for the player.

TIF Thoughts…

Considering the fact that Lyanco has played relatively little football since moving to Turin, it is slightly surprising to see that Leeds are in for the £5.85 million-rated defender.

However, with Ben White returning to Brighton following his season on loan with the Whites, Marcelo Bielsa’s side will likely be in the market for a new centre-back this summer.
