Supporters of Leeds United have been reacting to a transfer link which has emerged between the club and River Plate’s Lucas Martínez Quarta.
According to Sport Witness, the link had initially been drawn between the Whites and the centre-back by South American sources, however, it was also confirmed by Sport Witness themselves.
The 24-year-old is considered to be a ‘crucial player’ for the Argentine club but they need to sell some of their star players ‘to keep their financial health’.
Reportedly, River Plate value the defender at €25m (£22.6m), however, it is unclear how much Leeds would pay to bring their supposed target to Yorkshire.
This left lots of Leeds fans talking after the rumour was shared to social media by James Marshment.
Leeds reported to have identified centre-half Lucas Martínez Quarta as a primary signing this summer.

I want a team of obscure Argentinian Bielsa devotees in the premier league.

Over 19 appearances in the Superliga this season, Lucas Martínez Quarta has picked up a relatively impressive 7.01/10 average rating (per WhoScored).
The defender also managed 1.8 tackles and 1.7 interceptions per game over those appearances, which has been bettered by Ben White in the Championship this season as he has managed 1.8 tackles and 2.3 interceptions per match. As a result, some Whites fans would rather Bielsa prioritised signing the Brighton loanee of a permanent basis.
why not just pay extra for ben white ????

Might aswell get white for 30-35

As can be seen in these responses to the transfer link, there was a mixed bag of reactions from the Elland Road faithful.
