Many Leeds United fans have been responding to a post by LeedsUnitedAllTheWay on Twitter, in which news was relayed that the club have reportedly started negotiations with Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani.

ESPN Uruguay recently reported that the Yorkshire-based club have been in contact with the £18m-rated striker and they claimed he is ‘willing to listen to the proposal of the English team’.

Nice easy one to start off with, from which club did Leeds sign Hernandez?

The 33-year-old is without a club having recently left the French champions, Paris Saint-Germain, who he signed for back in July 2013 in a deal reportedly worth £58.05m (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk). In 301 appearances for Les Parisiens, Cavani scored 200 times and provided his teammates with 43 assists.

Here is how a sample of the Elland Road faithful have responded to these latest reports.

Do you think a deal for Edinson Cavani to join Leeds is feasible?

It is clear from the above responses that some of these supporters fear the Uruguayan international’s wage demands will make a deal to bring him to the club difficult. As well as his impressive goal record in club football, Cavani has also managed to score 50 times in 116 senior appearances for his country (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk). Fans continued to respond to the report.

If Leeds United were able to strike a deal with Cavani, it can certainly be argued that he would add further quality to their front line. However, nothing has been agreed between the relevant parties yet.
