Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news update involving Albian Ajeti that recently emerged on social media.

Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph recently tweeted an update about the striker, revealing that Celtic are now ‘set’ to sign Ajeti on an initial loan deal and they will have the option to buy him permanently for a fee of £5 million. The journalist also confirmed that the striker will undergo a medical on Wednesday, ahead of a Parkhead switch.

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

This tweet from Joseph caught the attention of many Celtic fans. They rushed to this update and made their opinions very clear.

Do you think Celtic will sign Ajeti permanently in 2021?

Absolutely!

Absolutely!

I don't think so

Clearly, Ajeti’s potential arrival has left Celtic fans thinking about the futures of Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths, Patryk Klimala and Vakoun Bayo. They feel that the Swiss striker’s arrival could see the exit of one of the other four forwards that Celtic already have.

A number of Celtic fans were thrilled with the news.

Even these Celtic fans also feel that Ajeti’s move could potentially endanger the presence of the other strikers in the team. The Hoops indeed have Edouard, Griffiths, Klimala and Bayo as their four options for the striker position (as per Transfermarkt).

Klimala had recently scored twice in a pre-season friendly against Hibernian, so the signs are good for him right now. Neil Lennon has already confirmed that the club is in talks to hand Edouard a new contract. While the Celtic boss did initially criticise Griffiths for his fitness issues, he has recently heaped praise on him for how he has improved.

So it remains to be seen whether Ajeti’s signing affects anyone else in the team. Bayo is currently injured and made only eight Premiership appearances last season. So it would be interesting to see what the future holds for him.
