Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news update involving their central defender Kristoffer Ajer.

The Sunday Post recently reported about Ajer, saying that Milan will now ‘step up’ their efforts to sign the Norwegian this summer. The report claims that the Rossoneri are now willing to offer £22.4 million to sign Ajer and they’ve already had a bid rejected for him, citing sources close to the club.

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

It is also stated that Milan are ready to offer some central defensive options to Celtic to sweeten the deal and help the Hoops potentially deal with Ajer’s loss.

CelticBible recently relayed this information on social media. It caught the attention of many Celtic fans. Many of them said that they’ll be happy to let Ajer leave for that fee.

Should Celtic sell Ajer if Milan offer £22.4 million?

Yes, sell him!

No, he's too important for us

The report reveals that while Ralf Rangnick is set to replace Stefano Pioli as the Milan boss next season, the deal would still be pursued irrespective of who the manager is. Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina, Tanguy Kouassi of Bayern, and Luca Kilian of Paderborn are the other options that Milan are currently looking at.

Some other Celtic fans were also happy about this potential offer and they made it very clear too.

Ajer is currently valued at £2.43 million by Transfermarkt. The 2019/20 campaign saw him make 49 appearances in all competitions. He was a regular in the Premiership as well, making 28 appearances for the Hoops (via Transfermarkt).

This shows that he is an important player for Celtic. But getting £22.4 million for a player who is valued at £2.43 million could be a very good deal. And it could be even better if Milan offer some players to potentially replace Ajer.
