Many Celtic fans have flocked to the latest tweet that journalist Raman Bhardwaj recently relayed on social media.
Bhardwaj’s latest tweet saw him post an update about Celtic’s chase of Peterborough United striker Ivan Toney. The journalist revealed that the Hoops’ interest in the League One striker ‘remains strong’ and they’ve had a bid rejected by the Posh last week. He went on to mention Toney’s goalscoring numbers at Peterborough so far.
This tweet from the journalist caught the attention of many Celtic fans. They flocked to the update and made their opinion very clear about Toney. One Celtic fan made his frustration known about this.
Toney is a big Nono he’s untried at higher level and would be a huge gamble. Need someone at a higher level with European experience.

Should Celtic sign Toney if the Ajeti deal falls through?
Absolutely!
Not at all
Some others were happy to see Celtic go after Toney and they began talking about it.
Don’t mess this up celtic. He looks a pure machine.

Good to see the club still pushing for this move, in the case Ajeti doesn’t sign. Shows some big ambition if we can sign him up https://t.co/w7tCIF0Kf5

This seems ambitious but it would be a big statement if we signed him and kept Eddy. https://t.co/VDFr2ntJkt

7 million probably get him over the line be a great bit of business if Celtic can pull this off him and Eddy upfront ??

The Daily Record also reported that Celtic saw an offer of £5million rejected by Peterborough and a source close to the League One club told them that the offer ‘was well short of their valuation’.
Some more Celtic fans seemed positive about these links and they expressed it clearly.
Celtic buy young talent nurture it improve it and sell it
Don’t know if you have noticed but its been quite successful— Thom (@ThomHarr7) July 30, 2020
Vardy came from the lower league’s, Watkins at Brentford came from Exeter, these kinds of players i’d take everyday over unknown foreigners!

Toney was in impressive form for Peterborough in the 2019/20 season, as he made 39 appearances in all competitions and scored a total of 26 goals for them. In League One, he scored 24 goals in 32 appearances (via Transfermarkt).
It has been reported that Albian Ajeti’s move is currently on hold as the West Ham man has ‘asked for more time’ to make a choice about a move. As a result, he has stayed back in Switzerland. Toney’s goalscoring form shows that he can a very reliable option if the move for Ajeti falls through.
