Former Celtic player Frank McAvennie has revealed that the club could be making a few new signings in the summer transfer window.

McAvennie was recently talking exclusively to Football Insider in an interview. He was asked about Mohamed Elyounoussi and while talking about the Norwegian, the former Hoops player hinted that the club could be signing more players this summer.

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

McAvennie called Elyounoussi “a very good player” and said that having him play on the left and James Forrest on the right could give Celtic a “great balance”. In the interview, he also compared Elyounoussi to former Hoops star Scott Sinclair.

But he also hinted about some more new signings for the Hoops and said: “One good signing and I have heard that they are going to be signing a few more. So let’s wait and see.”

Do you think Celtic will sign more players this summer?

TIF Thoughts…

While McAvennie seems a bit confident about the fact that the Hoops will sign more players, STV has already reported that the club will not sign Fraser Forster, as the Englishman has chosen to fight for his place at Southampton. Joe Hart has been linked with a Parkhead switch, with Craig Gordon having left already.

Jonny Hayes and Jozo Simunovic have already left as well, as their contracts at the club ran out. Talks are going on to extend Odsonne Edouard’s contract at Parkhead, though, and that could be a positive for the Hoops.

So there is no clear indication of who those new signings could be. The club has the chance to seal the historic tenth Premiership title in a row next season and signing players could help them bolster their squad further. But it remains to be seen where those signings can come from.
