Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

After it was reported that Forster has recently returned to his parent club Southampton to discuss where his future will lie after spending the season on loan at Celtic, Hannah shared his thoughts the situation.

He said: “My understanding is that Celtic were going to push the boat out. They were willing to do a loan deal or they were willing to do a deal that would have brought Fraser [Forster] back up the road and permanently. I’m not 100% sure where it actually fell down but it looks as if it has fallen down.

“It’s a blow for Celtic but you just wonder in five years time whether Fraser Forster will regret that this deal wasn’t done because when he gets back to Southampton he’s going back to a very uncertain future.

“Alex McCarthy, Angus Gunn [are] both ahead of him. Southampton are probably going as well at the minute as they have done at any stage under Ralph Hasenhuttl so it’s not as if he’s planning to make big changes and tear the team up for the next Premier League down south.

“It’ll be fascinating to see what happens to Fraser Forster’s career. I thought this was going to be done. I thought Fraser Forster was going to come back up the road, it’ll be interesting to see now what happens to Fraser.”

Should Celtic sign Forster on a permanent deal this summer?

Forster joined Celtic on loan from Southampton back in August 2019. Since then, the 32-year-old made 28 appearances for Neil Lennon’s side in the Scottish Premiership in which he managed to keep 14 clean sheets and conceded just 17 goals along the way (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts…

Considering how well Forster performed for Celtic this season in terms of the number of goals he conceded and the number of clean sheets he managed to keep for the team, it’s no wonder Hannah thinks that Forster’s departure is a big blow for the club.
