Fans of Celtic have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which the club reacted to a post by former Celtic striker, Moussa Dembele.

Following a pre-season friendly between Celtic and Lyon, which the French side won 2-1, former Hoops forward and current Lyon player Dembele tweeted: “Nice to see you again Celtic. Felt kind of weird to score against you…but after all, it’s only a preparation game. We’ll meet again soon.”

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

After his tweet, the official Celtic Twitter account quote-tweeted Dembele’s post, commenting with a GIF that read: “So you’re telling me there’s a chance?”

In reaction to the club’s post, fans of Celtic flocked to have their say on the matter, with many calling for the club to do all they can to re-sign the French frontman.

After arriving at Celtic from Fulham on a free transfer back in 2016, Dembele went on to be a roaring success at the Scottish club.

Over his two years at Parkhead, the 24-year-old scored a remarkable 51 goals and provided 18 assists in 94 appearances, helping Celtic to win an array of silverware, before moving to Lyon for £19.8 million in 2018.

Do you believe there is any chance that Moussa Dembele would ever return to Celtic?

No, not going to happen

Since then, the forward has continued his upward trajectory, scoring 42 goals and providing 13 assists over 88 appearances for Lyon, with his market value rocketing to £36 million – ranking him as the 16th-most valuable centre-forward in world football.

While it is unclear whether or not Dembele’s comment of ‘we’ll meet again soon’ really did hint at a transfer, or if the striker simply meant he believes the two clubs will face each other again, is uncertain.

However, what is rather more evident is that these Celtic fans would love the forward to make a move back to Parkhead one day.
